Why Purpose Matters

There are times in our lives when we feel a loss of purpose. For me it was after I got divorced and then again after I experienced financial loss. I know from others that it can be felt after a job loss, after an injury/illness. It’s those times in our lives when we feel lost and are desperately searching for something that will help us to feel better and to remember why we’re here. I am passionate about helping people to find their purpose because I know the pain of losing it and I also know the joy of finding it again.

My purpose is to help others to find their most supportive places where they feel they belong and can thrive in every area of life. I do this by offering private readings that you can learn more about here.

Why I Got Called Out by my Coach

Yesterday I got called out by my coach, Dr. Aaron Wilkerson who when I asked how to get over the fact that some people will want to pay me for my gifts and some people won’t, he so bluntly responded with, “Get over yourself and share your gifts.” Another one of my coaches refers to the principle of holding back your gifts to only those who will pay you for them as prostituting yourself. I love coaches and their bluntness! LOL

Last night I had a dream that I was sitting down at a table with a woman giving her a reading and so easily knew what was holding her back in life and shared that with her. It brought her such peace and I woke up with the strong impulse to make my intuitive readings accessible to more people so jumped right into action by updating the offering on my website.

Manifest at Rest

Were you taught that to get what you want you need to work hard to get it? That’s what I was taught and now I’m rethinking this whole working hard thing…To me working hard started to look like always having my phone next to me, checking my email incessantly and feeling like I couldn’t stop or rest for fear of missing an inquiry from a prospective client or something important from my kids’ school.

Then I realized that I was in a constant state of hurry and that the stress was doing the opposite of what I wanted and slowing down my progress rather than speeding it up. I took a week-long vacation in California completely solo and what I found was that I was able to finally rest and relax in the sun but that people all around me were on their phones, distracted and missing out on the joy of life too.

Let It Be Easy

When you were growing up did you have people praise you for working hard? Were you surrounded by hard-working mothers/fathers who modeled for you what hard work looks like and then told you that it is hard work and hard work alone which leads to success? Or maybe you were told that you could go out and play only AFTER you finished your homework and all of your chores.

The problem with this is that when we don’t allow ourselves to play until AFTER all of our work is completed, we never get the time to play. As adults this translates into needing our homes to be cleaned first, needing to be up to date on emails/work for our clients before we will let ourselves enjoy any downtime and then we get resentful when we see that we are never left with any time for ourselves.

This has been my story too and something that has helped me is to repeat the affirmation, “I deserve downtime.” It is why I booked an extra three days in California for myself to rest in the sun after filming my speaking reel for my business and also why I decided to put up that away message in my email that lets my audience know that I’ll be unreachable during this time so that I can completely immerse myself in the energy of rest and relaxation.

Afraid to Launch Your New Offering?

Have you seen the Matthew McConaughey movie, “Failure to launch?” It’s the one where he seems to have it all together and women fall for him easily but then they realize that he still lives with his parents and has no intention to move out and be on his own? Well this movie title popped in my head as I’ve been talking to my clients who have had so much clarity as to what they want to create next in their business but just haven’t launched it yet.

Many of them have gone so far as to book a retreat venue, to hire a team to help them lead it but haven’t made actual invitations to live human beings who will be the ones to receive their teachings and wisdom.

Why haven’t they made the invitation yet? Because of fear. It’s the part where we put ourselves in a place to receive a, “No,” and to many of us that’s terrifying. It makes us feel like our offer isn’t good enough and ultimately even worse, that we’re not good enough. We’re afraid that we’ll prove our ego right that says, “This has been done before. Who are you to teach this? There are others doing this and doing it better than you ever good.” If they never launch it, they never have to face that fear and can stay comfortable doing what they’ve been doing which is reworking their website, creating the actual program, anything BUT the part that puts them in a place to be rejected (and ultimately succeed too).

There’s not a successful entrepreneur out there who hasn’t felt these same fears and received tons of, “No’s” before they got those, “Yeses.” The more you practice receiving the, “No’s” with as much love and grace as you do in receiving those, “Yeses” the easier it will become. And before you know it your retreat/program will be filled with aligned souls EAGER to learn what you have to share and their lives will be forever changed because of it.

These common fears that I’ve seen my own clients and colleagues around me facing is what inspired me to create the Abundance Breakthrough Retreat. It’s geared around getting specific with what you are asking for/launching whether it be a certain number of enrollees in your next retreat/program or to finally start writing that book and then we will hold you accountable for taking action towards making that dream a reality.

Time Saving Hacks

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! A message that I got from Spirit at my Virtual Book Launch Party was that all of us are mothers, whether we have our own children/fur babies or not. We are mothers of creation and have dreams that we are nurturing.

If you’re like me sometimes you get impatient waiting for those dreams to manifest into your physical experience and may end up working tirelessly in hopes that they will come to fruition faster. Much like a farmer who has planted his/her seeds though, demanding that they sprout faster and watering them furiously will not cause them to grow any faster. In fact the opposite may happen and you could drown them with too much water and focus.

Noticing my desire to work tirelessly to build my new academy and Manifest with Ease Master Class, I was reminded of my own teachings and to take a break so as not to burn myself out. Timely as it was my first business coach, Leah Remillet and I got reconnected who focuses on teaching time saving systems so that entrepreneurial moms can buy back their time. An affirmation that she reminded me of repeating to myself was, “I deserve downtime.”

My Spiritual Awakening

Technically I believe that our spiritual journey begins the day we are born and that we choose our life circumstances along the way. I went through much of my life thinking my role was to please everyone else before myself but now believe the opposite to be true and am on a mission to step more fully into who I am and to be unapologetically myself.

My real awakening began back in 2015 when I was teaching elementary school children. I loved being around the kids and always felt more joyful and alive around their energy but I began to feel suppressed creatively with an administration that seemed to be scrutinizing my every move. I was told not to be different and just do what the other teachers were doing and nothing else. I was feeling frustrated and stuck and more than anything just wanted to be home with my own kids who were 2 and 4 at the time. That’s when the Universe shook things up for me…

I received a phone call on a cool morning in October from my son’s daycare teacher saying that things weren’t working out and that we’d have to find another childcare arrangement for him. She said that he was crying for me all day and had tantrum after tantrum and they just couldn’t take it anymore. I had just started a new school year and was a full-time 5^th grade teacher at the time. I had no idea what to do but knew in my heart that my son was calling for me. We had a traumatic delivery with him when he was born. He and I slipped out of consciousness on and off for hours and I told God that if he died then I wanted to go with him. We’ve had a super strong connection ever since that fateful day when God said we both were going to live. At only the age of 2, my son knew that I was unhappy at work and I knew that he was unhappy away from me. So my husband and I made the decision that I would give my notice at work and stay home with the kids.

I felt so free for the first time in as long as I could remember. I felt like I could finally start living my life the way I wanted to. After I gave my notice at work, I noticed that every time I looked at the clock it was 11:11 or 1:11. I was seeing 1s everywhere…. When I saw them I felt chills throughout my body and intense feelings of love and anticipation as to what was coming next for me. Without realizing it at the time, this was the start of my spiritual awakening.

I was home for about a month with my kids when I got a call from my friend saying that I should pursue my dream of starting my own photography business now that I had some more time to get it set up and that she knew just the program I should take to start making money right away. After completing the course and launching my business, I made $1800 from a mini session sale only 3 months after starting my business which was the proof I needed to know that I could make this work long-term.

Not only was photography proving to be lucrative for me, but the energy I felt when I was on a photo shoot lit me up in a way that I hadn’t felt before. I felt completely aligned and in my flow maybe for the first time in my life which explains the meaning of my camera tattoo with the 11:11 under it symbolizing perfect alignment.

Photography still lights me up to this day and the more I do it, the more I realize how beneficial tapping into my intuition during my shoots is to be inspired to the best posing and lighting too. I began visualizing the perfect shoot before I would go and would set the intention for my clients to feel a loving exchange of energy from me and to see themselves in love and light when they saw their final images. It was powerful stuff and so much fun to play with as I would write down a number that came into my head before heading into a session reveal and then to have a client give me that exact amount in a check from their order was so much fun…

Then, I started acupuncture. Acupuncture wasn’t something I ever thought I’d try but I had seen a noticeable difference in my husband after he did it so I knew there was something to it. I found a practitioner who made me feel comfortable to share openly about my life experiences and the areas that needed healing. During one of my treatments I even left my body…. I had asked God to take from me the traumas of my past and to remove them from me for good because I wasn’t sure how to remove them for myself. I felt a rush of cold air around my legs and saw my legs lifting off the table in my mind’s eye. What I felt next was the most amazing feeling I’ve ever felt in my life. It felt as though God himself was hugging me and I felt the biggest rush of love and adrenaline I’ve ever felt. I knew where I was and also knew that I was coming back to my body. I came back down and told my practitioner what had happened. He was so open in accepting this and made me feel special rather than strange for claiming to have had such an experience.

Next I began exploring tarot cards, oracle cards, crystals, and couldn’t get enough of acupuncture and crystal healing sessions too. I began feeling and experiencing Spirit in a whole new way and was getting woken up in the evenings by my Spirit Guides who were telling me that it was time for me to build a spiritual online business and to start guiding others who were awakening too. I signed up for a Mediumship course and in my very first practice session I was able to read our teacher and send her a message from her departed father that had her in tears. I was shocked at how easily this information came to me and decided to put myself out there and offer readings to others too. It was so humbling to be trusted not only by the clients that hired me but also by their Spirit Guides who trusted me to deliver their messages with love and with the intent for healing too.
